Arpad Konyves

I was born and raised in Hungary. After medical school I decided to move to the UK. Having completed basic surgical training in the South-West of England I spent 5 years in Sheffield and surrounding hospitals training in Orthopaedics.

In the final year of my training I moved to Adelaide, South Australia to accomplish a 12-month fellowship (sub-specialist training) in Sports Surgery and Arthroplasty at the prestigious Sportsmed SA. After moving back to England, I completed a further 4-month fellowship in York in foot and ankle surgery.

I am author of studies published in peer-reviewed journals and I have presented several times at national and international meetings. I am one of the Editors of Arthroscopy: The Journal of Arthroscopic and Related Surgery.

I moved to New Zealand with my young family in August 2011 in search of a better lifestyle. I took up a Consultant post at the Lakes DHB, Rotorua Hospital and so far have not regretted moving to the other side of the world.
